“I HAVE NO REGRETS” – Can say no mortal man, or woman, ever.
We’ve all got them. I’ll bet you this though. If you take inventory it is not the things you did but the things you did not do that you regret the most, or that you will.
I read an article recently stating that, when a large group of seniors was asked about their regrets, the vast majority of the regrets listed started with one word. The word “NOT”. Not something they actually did do….. but what they did not do.
I am going to guess that if you could ask them why they did “not” do something the common denominator would be another single word. “FEAR”.
Fear of failure, getting laughed at, messing up, falling short, you name it, has crushed more dreams and caused more regret than can be measured. These people surveyed likely feared an embarrassing, uncomfortable, undesired outcome, so they did nothing. They just stayed comfortable. Haven’t we all at some point?
Know this, you are going to fail, until you get it right. Then you will fail some more, just not as often or as royally. It is going to happen, it is how you grow. Don’t let fear of failure derail your plans and ambitions. Everything you need has already been given to you but you have to bring it out. You have to fail your way to success, literally.
When fear shows up remember Isaiah 41:10……”So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand”.
You’ve got that going for you. I mean seriously, what more do you need?
Get in the boat. Do you part
