If….

Don’t let the enemy make you think it’s just you…. It’s all of us.

If you saw practically every hour on the clock last night, and you are already dreading what you know is going to be a long afternoon, you are not alone.

If you really don’t want to get dressed this morning and go help other people solve their problems, or search for people whose problems you can help solve, for a paycheck, you are not alone.

If you wonder how the physical pains of an aging and slightly wounded body will feel in ten more years, given how they have progressed over the last five, you are not alone.

If you wonder not when the next round of depression will show up, but instead how long it will stay and just how heavy it will get while it is here, you are not alone.

If you wonder just how high interest rates will go, how much more the price of groceries, electricity, insurance of all types, and basically everything else that costs money will go, you are not alone.

If you have to force yourself through the door to exercise or lift weights, because it’s not fun anymore, parts hurt, and you aren’t nearly as strong in most areas as you were years ago, but you do it anyway, you are not alone. (Double kudos to y’all 👊🏻)

I could keep going on that list but, you get the point. We all have our own personal list of dislikes, concerns, or just flat-out fears. That’s life and some days that group of things show up in bunches.

Truth is, if the enemy can get me focused on the things I don’t like, the things I don’t want to do, the things I have no control over then…. the enemy wins, and….

If I only knew who God was, and knew who Christ was, and knew what The Holy Spirit was, then what hope would I have…. if I only knew who they were but, that’s not the case.

Today…. I know them personally. I am God’s child, I know Him through a personal relationship with Christ, The Holy Spirit is in me, and guides me, and there is an absolute army of angels at their disposal to protect me, fight for me, keep the enemy at bay. (Read that twice)

Given this, I know that….

Rest will come, sooner or later.

I am fortunate to have work to go to, an office of people I love, and I believe God will continue to send me clients and customers to serve.

Whatever becomes of my physical pains that keep mounting up, God will get me through. Perhaps that is his way of slowing down his creation that only has one gear, which is wide open.

Whenever my old friend depression shows up again, he won’t stay forever. With God’s help, I’m tougher than him.

Whatever “things” cost in this world, so far, God has kept me and my family fed, clothed and sheltered. He will continue to do so.

Giving up physically would only usher in an entire new basket of ailments. So, I will continue to eat right and exercise. As God’s child my body is a temple, and I honor God by taking care of it.

Here is the deal….

If…. you let the enemy constantly remind you of the things you don’t like or can’t change, then…. the enemy wins.

If…. you remind yourself of the things God has done in the past, is doing in the present, or is capable of doing in your life, despite the evidence around you, then…. the enemy loses.

Like I said…. everybody suffers. Don’t let the enemy make you think it’s just you. It’s all of us.

Get In The Boat. Do Your Part.

Believe, Decide, Persist…. From Nose To Toes!
